Someone to Sit With
Two hours of company for someone who is ill, dying or newly alone, with no agenda beyond being there.
- Hands-on, on Prince Edward Island
- Can be scheduled
Arranged after a call. Some things we arrange after a short call, so we can check the details and make sure we can do it properly. Tell us what's needed and we'll come back with what's possible and what it would cost. Nothing is charged until you've agreed to it.
What this is
Two hours of company at home, in hospital or at a care home. Conversation if they want it, quiet if they don't. Tea, reading aloud, looking at photographs, or sitting while they sleep so the room isn't empty. This is company, not care. Nothing clinical happens, and we confirm with the family and the facility beforehand that a visitor is welcome and appropriate. PEI only at launch.
What's included
- Two hours of company at home, hospital or care home
- Conversation, reading aloud, or quiet presence
- Family and facility confirmation beforehand
- Short note back to you afterward
- Fare-Well handwritten card with your message
- A handwritten Fare-Well card with your message, and a memorial birdseed ornament.
Why we chose this
Dying is boring and lonely for long stretches, and the family can't be there every hour. There's also the person who has just been widowed and is eating alone for the first time in fifty years. Both need company more than they need anything else on this list.
Trish, Fare-Well Co.
