A Full Day Off for the Caregiver
Six hours of cover so a caregiver can sleep, go to their own appointment, or leave the Island for a day.
- Hands-on, on Prince Edward Island
Arranged after a call. Some things we arrange after a short call, so we can check the details and make sure we can do it properly. Tell us what's needed and we'll come back with what's possible and what it would cost. Nothing is charged until you've agreed to it.
What this is
Six hours of non-clinical company with the person being cared for, so the caregiver can take a full day rather than a squeezed afternoon. Same boundaries as shorter respite: presence, conversation and company, with no personal care and no medication. We talk with the family first about whether a longer stretch is appropriate. Longer periods need a provider who already knows the household, so we usually arrange a shorter visit first. PEI only.
What's included
- Six hours of non-clinical company
- Provider who has met the household beforehand
- Family conversation before booking
- No personal care and no medication
- A handwritten Fare-Well card with your message, and a memorial birdseed ornament.
Why we chose this
A caregiver who gets three hours uses them on errands. A caregiver who gets six hours might actually sleep, or go to their own doctor, which is the appointment they've cancelled twice.
