Caregiver support & respite

An Hour for the Person Doing the Caring

One private hour with Fare-Well for the caregiver, about their own situation rather than the patient's.

What this is

A sixty-minute one-to-one conversation, by video or phone, for the person doing the caring. It's their hour, not a care planning session about someone else. Practical questions, what's coming, what to expect, or just saying out loud what they can't say at home. This is experienced, non-clinical support and it isn't therapy or counselling. Booked directly with them at a time that works. Available anywhere.

What's included

  • One sixty-minute private conversation by video or phone
  • Scheduled directly with the caregiver
  • Non-clinical, experienced support
  • Follow-up notes or resources if they want them
  • A handwritten Fare-Well card with your message, and a memorial birdseed ornament.
  • Your card and ornament are posted separately, so something still arrives at the door.

Why we chose this

Everyone asks the caregiver how the patient is doing. Almost nobody asks how they are, and if they do, the caregiver answers about the patient anyway. An hour that's explicitly theirs interrupts that pattern.
