We reach out gently to arrange timing. They can decline, change the timing, or move it to something else that would help more, and can ask us not to get in touch again.

Depending on the item, that can mean Fare-Well wrapping or tissue, protective presentation, a short note explaining the support, and a delivery handled by a person rather than dropped at a door. The handwritten card carrying your exact words is the one constant.
